SIBS AB (publ) is pleased to announce that it has signed an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) Agreement for a co-living development in Western Australia. The customer is an Australian property developer with a large portfolio focused on mixed use, residential, and co-living solutions. SIBS and the customer plan to jointly deliver this first project in a transformational residential housing portfolio across the Perth metropolitan area. The combined pipeline represents 700 residential apartments, with the first project targeting approximately 6,000 m² gross floor area.

The ECI phase will commence immediately and is expected to result in the commencement of production by the end of 2026.

By combining SIBS’s offshore manufacturing precision with the customer’s established on-ground delivery expertise, the partnership delivers faster project timelines, enhanced quality control, and substantial cost efficiencies compared to conventional construction. This venture addresses Western Australia’s critical housing shortage whilst demonstrating the scalability of modular construction for premium urban residential markets.

"Western Australia has a genuine and urgent need for more housing, and this agreement puts us in a strong position to contribute meaningfully to that. The ECI model allows us to work closely with the developer from an early stage, which is exactly how we deliver the best outcomes: shorter timelines, better cost control, and a product that meets the market's needs," says Lawrence Chua, Executive Director, SIBS Malaysia.
